DMC3 SE

This is an enhanced version of my favorite game: Devil May Cry 3.
Though the information I've got before the release date upsets me (don't know why, just not so happy with the extra content), I am pretty satisfied with what I've got today.

The new continue system in English version is the continue system used in Jap ver. And that leaves me no difficulty at all. Though I have to play through Dante's story line again to get my hands on Vergil, I am happy that they have provided a Turbo mode and that makes the game looks slicker.

I'll play slowly this time, no pressure at all.

Shin Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams hands-on

Finally I have got my hands on this long-waiting game. To my suprise, it has 2 game discs, and support HDL perfectly. The game's opening CG is not very impressive.
Since it has a language choice available, I think english is better for me to start the journey.

But the English version of the Japanese epic game seems a little bit wierd. Besides the character's names, which are totally unrecognizable; the English vioce acting is far worse than Japanese one. Also, in Jap version, the weapon's names are mostly in Chinese, which looks very cool. The only advantage of English version to me is the story line. But since the story line could be get from some other faqs, I think Jap version will be my choice throughout the rest of my Oni journey.

Played through several stages. So far so good.

Start downloading Oni 4

The new Oni game includes 2 disks. It will either be a great game or another poor sequel like DMC2.
I am starting the downloading process already. It'll take 1 day at least, and hopefully I can start playing it this weekend.

To tell the truth, I am not very enthusiastic about playing games these days.
Talk to you later.

Onimusha 4

Before my interest for games runs out, I ran into a page on GameSpot, then I realized one thing: The new Onimusha is going to be out in less than 10 days. The Jap version of the new Onimusha title is " Shin Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams (新鬼武者:梦之黎明)" , and will be released on Jan 26th, the same day Capcom releases DMC3: SE.

I watched several videos of the upcoming game, and found myself get excited a little bit. That's not a good sign for me, especially at this moment, when we are stepping into games time operation. I will not have any time playing it for sure, and probably won't be able to play it for the next several months...

The action of the heroes in the new game looks a lot quicker, comparing with Onimusha 2 (I haven't got a chance to play Oni3 yet). I don't know whether this game will surpass the second installment. This time Capcom has imported a co-battle system from Dynasty Worriors, make the battle screens more splendid.

Can't wait to see the game comes out.

See ya on Jan 26th!

RE4 normal 2nd round

With fully upgraded Red9, striker and broken butterfly, the 2nd round of normal is like a running of breeze.
Killed the el grande with 2 shots, and got every treasure following the path.

After this I'll try the legendary Professional mode.

DMC3 SE revealed

GameSpot has an article about DMC3 SE hands-on.
The game will be released on Jan 24. For sure I won't have time to play it by then, but probably I will still get it.

However, after reading the article, I was not sure if I still wanted to play as Vergil. He is a new playable character, but I don't know if I will appreciate his fighting style.

But the special edition still has something else to offer.
The bloody palace, and the new turbo mode, also the new boss. These sounds promising, too. For sure it is another game that DMC fans won't ignore.

How to put games in my life? - Part 1

That is to say, I have to find a position, or definition for games in my life.
In order to do this, I will do a questionaire first.

What is "games"?

The phrase interactive entertainment is the formal reference to computer and video games.

What's your gaming history?

I played some FC games when I was a child; also some arcade games (Round Table Worriors...). Then I played some PC games after I went to university. At the 4th year of my university, I bought a PSONE, and on the first year after I started working, I bought a GBA, on the 2nd year, I bought my PS2.

Why playing games?

-It's interactive.
-It's fun.
-A good way to kill time.

What genre of games do you play?

I played RPG, FPS, Strategy games on PC. After swithed to PS2, I played FFX, WE6&WE7. Now my favorite genre is ACT and Capcom is my favorite game company.

When do you play games?

Usually in a evening when I don't watch DVD, after dinner. From 9:00 PM to....?

Where do you play games?
Home. I play GBASP during my travel.

How do you play games?
Now I usually don't play RPG unless necessary. I am using HD Loader on my PS2.

What's your favorite game?
I used to play RPG games a lot. Now I play some action games:
Resident Evil 4
Devil May Cry 3
God of War
And Resident Evil 4 is my favorite game.

What game you play the best?
Uh.... this is a good question. I can say I play DMC3 well, but not well enough to get through DMD mode.

Any plan for buying new game/console?
>PS2 Games
-FFIX
-DMC3 SE
>NDS is an interesting console. Its hardware design is amazing. Maybe it is my next target.

What if you don't play game for one month?
That would be difficult. But it not impossible.

With whom you play games?
I used to play WE with some friends. Now I play games mostly by myself.

NDS? PSP?

I was not thinking buying a NDS or PSP. Because I won't have enough time.
But now I am.
PSP has an impressive screen, and more powerful CPU, but not so much good games. Most of PSP games are ported from other console.
NDS has great original games, and good DIY base. I like my GBASP, maybe it would be my next choice?

Donkey Kong Country 2 on GBA

Rare is a good company. Its software for Nentindo has great quality and lots of fun.
Donkey Kong Country 2 is a ported 2D action game on GBA, and the story, the stage design, the actions, the music... everything is great.

Also it has a great replay value. Secrets can be found in every single stage, and with the credits you get from playing, you can earn some surprise from old monkeys too.

Like it.

An interesting comparation about PS2 and NGC version of RE4

http://www.thehorrorisalive.com/forums/showthread.php?t=256

New Year's Resolution

Just finished first 4 chapters of Seperate Ways in RE4, I came here to write this blog and trying to calm myself donw from gaming mode.

What's my new year's resolution about games?
No, it's not about buying a NDS or a PSP, neither an Xbox 360. These new game consoles are not on my list yet. So, what's the goal?

Of course, it's the successful of Torino 2006 games! Just kidding.

Let's get back to the topic. Given the importance of this year, I highly doubt if I will have enough time playing games. For the first 2 months, I will work on the games time schedule, devoting myself to work and rest. March will be a transitional period during which I will be exceptionally busy and wouldn't have time playing games for sure.

In April and May 2006, I'll have to deal with the settling down in Beijing. After that, I have to learn driving, spending 2 or 3 months weekends' time. Also, during the starting period in Beijing2008, I will have enough things on jobs to worry about.

That being said, my new year's resolution about games is, trying to stay AWAY from games as much as possible.
