Addicted to Ogame!

Ogame is a web browser based online multiplayer game.
Here is the introduction on the official website.

Welcome to OGame!

Welcome to OGame, a strategic space simulation game with thousands of players across the world competing with each other simultaneously. All you need to play is a standard web browser.

What is OGame about?

OGame is a game of intergalactic conquest. You start out with just one undeveloped world and turn that into a mighty empire able to defend your hard earned colonies. Create an economic and military infrastructure to support your quest for the next greatest technological achievements. Wage war against other empires as you struggle with other players to gain the materials . Negotiate with other emperors and create an alliance or trade for much needed resources. Build an armada to enforce your will throughout the universe. Horde your resources behind an impregnable wall of planetary defences. Whatever you wish to do, OGame can let you do it. Will you terrorize the area around you? Or will you strike fear into the hearts of those who attack the helpless?

In OGame, YOU are the emperor.

I joined the game 2 weeks ago, and now I am "Hooked" to it. I start playing it because I thought it was just an online strategy game, and it would not occupy lots of my time. But these 2 days I was playing it like crazy. I was building my mines, solar plant, and research my technology; until one morning I woke up to find I was attacked by someone, and some of my resources are gone.

That day I realize it is not a defensive game, where you can live with other players safely. You have to raid other players if you want to survive. That's the rule.

I built some defence structures that day. In the night I was attacked by another player, but this time he lost all his troops and his fleets and I won the defence combat :)

I started building my own fleets the day after. I researched probe technology, and sent out lots of probes to find somebody I can raid. From then on I started 2 or 3 raids everyday, mostly on the inactive players. I sent a fleet to the guy who attacked me in the second night, defeated him
and got his resources.

But what I did is just a start. If you go to the official game forum, you will find a section called Hall of Fames. Within this section players are putting their combat reports. The battles here are jumbo size - several thousands of ships attack, hundreds of thousands defences blast into ashes in a few seconds. These players are apparently on another level. They are the king of the universe.

Ogame is developed by a Germany company named "Gameforge". Chinese version of Ogame is available online now.

I will have to find a way to restrain myself from playing it too much. I cannot afford the time. I need to find a better pattern, to play it only several minutes from time to time.

Latest update in my game world

I have joined Beijing Olympic Games team in April, and the games in Beijing is going to be interesting... OK, at least it is also "Game" .

Now let's come back to the real topic.

No 1 update: I have received my PS2 in the middle of May, but I didn't open the package at all - one reason is that I don't have any more space in my new TV stand, the other important reason is:

No 2 update: I have got an NDS Lite! Yes, it is a Japan version of NDSL, light blue. Total price (NDSL+M3+MiniSD+Misc) is around 2000 RMB. But now the price has dropped, since the US version NDSL has been released. This event leads to another important update -

No 3 update: Angela established a record in one of the NDS games - Brain Age! I cannot imagine how difficult it will be to draw her attention to my game world, but this time NDS did. She is extremely good at "Calculation x 100" test in Brain Age, and her record is 59 seconds for 100 items! That's really impressive!
